INSITO è una metodologia integrata volta alla costruzione sociale e partecipativa di una conoscenza territoriale condivisa.

 INSITO is a method aimed at the creation of a partecipatory knowledge of an urban or suburban area. 

Through participatory actions and workshops with the people that live or work in the area, Izmo gathers informations related to places within the area (events, opinions, questions, news, memories, images, videos).

The collected data are transferred as “points” on an interactive map in a web platform based on the wiki technology.

People are free to register and add “points” to the map. Each point refers to a web page. Then the data can be analysed trhough data mining, tag analysis and thematic maps. This gives an updated and participatory tool to those who plan transformations or activities in the area. 

Izmo is presently testing Insito in the Vanchiglia neighbourhood in Turin (see TO_4507_077 )
